Plan the route that fits your journey
Guernsey and Jersey are separate destinations with different operator arrangements. Current Jersey services use DFDS routes from Poole, Portsmouth and St Malo. Guernsey routes are marketed through Brittany Ferries. Older Condor information needs to be checked against the carrier selling the present sailing.
Sark adds a further passenger crossing from Guernsey. Do not assume that an arrival on one island includes a same-day onward boat or that all inter-island services run throughout the year. Read the schedule for the actual month and weekday before choosing accommodation.
The Channel Islands are Crown Dependencies rather than part of the UK or the EU. Travel-document, customs and pet arrangements should be checked for the complete itinerary, especially if entering through France or continuing to another island.
Practical planning
Guernsey
Use St Peter Port arrival and check-in details. The Sark connection is a separate passenger service with its own luggage and boarding arrangements.
Jersey
St Helier is Jersey’s ferry gateway. DFDS routes and sailing patterns vary by season, so check the available return as carefully as the outward leg.
Island transfers
An international ferry can be delayed by weather. Allow a generous connection margin before a separately booked local boat, and consider an overnight stay where the timetable is sparse.
